Philippos Louis

Philippos Louis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Cyprus. He received a BSc degree in Public and Business Administration with a Minor in Political Science from the University of Cyprus. This was followed by post-graduate studies in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, which led to an MPhil and PhD in Economic Analysis. Before taking up his current position he held positions as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zurich and the University of New South Wales in Sydney. His research interests lie in the areas of Behavioural Economics, Game Theory, Experimental Economics and Market Design. His research has been published in leading international journals, such as the American Economic Review and the Economic Journal. He has presented his work in numerous international conferences, including the Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society, the Royal Economic Society Meetings and the World Meetings of the Economic Science Association, and has been invited to give seminars in universities around the world such as the University of Sydney, University of Zurich, University of Southampton and others. He often acts as a reviewer for some of the profession’s top journals such as The American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of Economic Theory and Games and Economic Behavior. He has taught various courses in Microeconomics and Experimental Economics in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, University Pompeu Fabra, the University of Zurich and the University of Cyprus.

Nikolas Tsakas

Nikolas studied in the Engineering School of University of Patras (Civil Engineering Department, 2004-09) and then moved to Madrid, Spain for postgraduate studies in Economic Analysis (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 2009-11), where he also completed his PhD thesis that focused on the study and analysis of social networks (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 20011-14). Subsequently, he worked for one year as Postdoctoral Reseacrh Fellow in Singapore (SUTD-MIT international Design Center at Singapore University of Technology and Design, 2014-15) and since 2015 he has been employed by the Department of Economics at the University of Cyprus (Lecturer 2015-2019, Assistant Professor, 2019-present). He is also a founding member of UCY LExEcon, the Laboratory for Experimental Economics at the University of Cyprus. His research spans across microeconomic theory, game theory and a broad range of their applications, with a special focus on the study of social and economic networks. His work often combines theoretical modeling with lab experiments. Currently, he is particularly interested in problems related to strategic communication and to processes of opinion formation under social interactions.

Dimitrios Xefteris

Dimitrios Xefteris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Cyprus. He received his PhD in Economics from the International Doctorate in Economic Analysis program, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. His academic interests are in microeconomic theory, game theory, political economics, and economic behavior. His research has been published in several economics and political science journals, including the American Economic Review, the American Political Science Review, Journal of Economic Theory, American Journal of Political Science, and International Economic Review.

Nicholas Ziros

He did his undergraduate studies in economics at the National & Kapodistian University of Athens and his graduate studies (MSc, PhD) at the University of Manchester. He has been working at the University of Cyprus since 2007. His main research fields are general equilibrium theory and game theory, and he has also worked on political economics and experimental economics.
